Thought i'd better start a thread in here to chart the (slow) progress of the single cab. So far... Collected from seller in Kent and drove home only to find severe lack of gearbox oil caused the gearbox to be shagged. Spent next few weeks of evenings swapping gearbox over including changing axles and redux box's over as the replacement box came without. Fortunately the chap I got the truck off had a spare box. Also changed the shift bushes over at the same time. As the truck is from Cali and still on Cali plates I had to register it which was easy but I did have to arrange to have it inspected to verify the details. I did this in Exeter at the local DVLA office yesterday and they issued the new reg number there and then. The cool thing about the new reg number is that it is very close the the buggy number - they both have the following same letters AOD ***A so only the numbers differ So far thats about it... I have driven it about a bit since changing the gearbox and all seems ok - have even been to Jewsons to pick up some wood in the back... he he he

A couple of pics taken by the previous owner.... Looks a bit scruffy but is solid in all the right places with only a bit of minor welding required.

Plans for the future - depending on DIY progres on the house and budget!!!.... Sort out the few rusty areas where it needs new bits welding in. Lower it (goes without saying!!) maybe narrow the front - not sure yet. Change the wheel 'n tyres for something cool. Put a cab height set of tilt and bows on the back. Not sure what to do with the overall paint 'n finish at the mo. Some say leave it, Louisa says two tone and shiney, or back to original white Still thats a long way off yet - anyone want to lend me a few grand?
