A bit more progress this weekend (well Sunday anyway). The plan was to lower the rear of the car 1 inner spline and fit my new exhaust but a quick examination of the location of the exhaust studs means that it looks like an engine out job to fit the exhaust - as I was on my own I progressed with other things. Fancy a lift Arches Off Time to investigate the cracking on the passenger side rear inner arch - turned out to be just filler cracking but there was some surface rust underneath so that was rubber back (40 grit flapper wheel FTW) and treated with Vactan. Beginning to shape some filler on the drivers side repair patch - yes, it's rough but the day was a lot warmer than of late and I forgot to allow for that when adding hardener. Then I ran out of filler (I didn't use that much I just didn't have much to start off with) so I gave the filler a quick blast with some red oxide to protect it through the forecasted rain. I also wet sanded the roof which is now a much brighter yellow

Nice work Al, driveway restos rule! haha what grid did you use to colour sand? is it like 2000? They always recommend 2k or 3k unitgrit which is very pricey so I use 1500 grit - I've used it before and it's ok TBH Here's some shots of some sanding out scratches I did for a mate Scratch Work In Progress OMG Sorted

A post engine fire poke around revealed what looked like some tyre scrubbage in one of the front inner arches - alas it turns out to be yet another rusty hole

The good news is - the car lives again. I finally got round to finishing off the diagnostics and I had power to the coil, the points were opening and closing (not enough so I reset them) the power was turning on and off on the green wire to the coil and no big sparks when you opened the points so both the points and condensor are fine. I tried the coil off of Sally's car and the car started so I just need to order a new coil

Right, with the MOT now passed I thought I would start tackling the wet sanding and spray touch ups but once again it really isn't the right yellow  So, I just gave the car a quick polish - ignored the fact it is god knows how many different colours yellow now and stuck some stickers on - like you do - after all Plymouth Volksfest is next week

OK, been a bit quiet on the bug front of late but things are beginning to happen again. I am on the lookout for a bigger engine and have bought the bits needed to finish off the rear valance ready for spraying. I have also bought this
