Well, here it is - our new 1969 1500. So far we have replaced all the leaky fuel lines and the leaky carb and it's running just not very well. Next thing will be new plugs and a look at the timing. I also fixed the indicators which as I'm sure you will guess involved 30 minutes with the wet and dry getting rid of rust I fitted some new tailpipes as well as the old ones were just about rusted through. Once it's running ok then I have new disks and pads for the front as it has been stood for a year then it's MOT time And the all important pics

Wild horses wouldn't keep me away - depends on how the MOT goes if we are in the bug are not - all the lights etc are now working and the engine runs if a bit rough just need to do the brakes tomorrow and get it MOT'd. If not we will be in a Peugeot 306.

Right, quick update - had the day off today to fit the new disks and pads for the MOT. Trouble is the face the outside bearing sits against is in slightly on the new Brembo disks so I need some shims as I can't adjust the end float to a reasonable level like you could with the old disks - this will be sorted tomorrow and the other disk protector (GSF only had 1 in stock) will arrive and the correct pads this time hopefully Still having trouble getting the engine running ok though. Have now changed the plugs, HT leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, carburettor and all the fuel lines and it still has an intermittant miss - and then when it has run for about 4 minutes it slows down, stops and then steam comes out of the crankcase breather. It also makes an odd wurring noise so I think there might be a fan issue in here somewhere causing it to overheat. If anyone has any ideas though feel free to share them

Right, had an MOT booked for today but the car didn't pass. It failed to start last night and we jump started it this morning but it stopped and refused to restart before it got to the end of the road.
We have bought a new battery to get it running again so that I can test to see if it is charging - will keep you updated.

OK, well it cut out - ironically enough back on the drive - battery has a charge (so did the old one now I have checked ) Starter motor sounds well ropey and will only intermittantly try to start the car but everything rotates very slowly. Engine turns using a socket though so I'm guessing it's the starter, soleniod or the wiring in that area. I'll get the car jacked up tomorrow and have a proper look round. Now for some beer

Oh, and I forgot to say we popped up to Stratford the other day and collected a couple of mint black doors and a nearly mint black bonnet. Bit of prep work on those and we can fit them

Right, pics of the interior back in as promised Sally has also been spraying the "new" rear wing we picked up at Slough. She has also been sorting out the rust and bubbling on the rear valance which now looks like this

Sally picked up a rear drivers side wing at Slough Swapmeet to replace the somewhat wrecked one on the car - this has been sprayed and just needs wet sanding and polishing up so it was time to remove the old one. Plenty of crustiness in there - good job she has some "new" lights lined up and ready to go Rust treated and primered Rear quarter rubbed back and filled (where the dent is from the previous owner) then sprayed with a miss-coat

Mis coats and sanding/filling all done - time for some primer Spraying Careful what you mask up with or you may end up with a horses butt on your window Checking One rear quarter done
